The vision

The homeowners wanted to make better use of their steep, hillside garden, which previously felt disconnected and difficult to navigate. The aim was to introduce structure, improve accessibility and create multiple outdoor spaces that felt cohesive and inviting.

The design reimagined the garden across two key levels- a practical patio near the house and a second, more secluded seating area at the base of the slope. These zones were linked together by a path.

New Red Multi Gilt Bricks

Wienerberger New Red Multi Gilt Bricks were used to add detail and structure throughout the garden. Their rich colour brought depth to the design and created an appealing contrast with the pale limestone.

Yorkshire Cream Decorative Aggregates

These bright Yorkshire Cream aggregates were chosen to soften the hard landscaping and introduce a natural texture across pathways and planting areas. Their light colour helped to reflect sunlight and brighten the lower parts of the garden.

The result

The transformed hillside garden now balances structure with character, turning an awkward sloped plot into a harmonious and inviting retreat. The mix of limestone paving, warm brick detailing and bright aggregates creates a layered, cohesive environment. With its thoughtful layout and refined material palette, the garden now offers year-round enjoyment from top to bottom.
