Description

Description

Thermo Radiata Pine cladding is a thermally modified timber cladding that offers excellent durability, stability and a clean, modern appearance. Using a chemical-free heat treatment process, Radiata Pine is transformed into a high-performance external cladding suitable for a wide range of architectural applications.

Thermal modification permanently alters the structure of the timber, improving resistance to moisture, decay and movement while enhancing its natural colour and longevity.

Key Benefits

Durable for external use – Thermally modified to improve resistance to rot, decay and fungal attack, making it suitable for long-term external cladding above ground.

Improved dimensional stability – Reduced moisture absorption means less swelling, shrinkage and warping compared to untreated timber of the same species.

Attractive, consistent finish – Heat treatment gives a warm, even brown colour throughout the board, which can be oiled to maintain its tone or left to weather naturally to a silver-grey.

Chemical-free and sustainable – Modified using only heat and steam, with no preservatives or chemicals added. FSC Mix 70%

Thermo Radiata Pine Tongue & Groove Cladding is supplied in a V-joint 18x115mm profile. External Corner Trims 42 x 42 x 7mm can also be supplied.

Thermal modification markedly improves durability and dimensional stability (less shrinkage, swelling and distortion than untreated radiata). Themo Radiata Pine has an attractive, warm brown colour produced by the process; which can be left to weather to a silver patina or maintained to keep the golden/brown tone. A chemical-free process, the performance gains for the timber come from heat/steam rather than preservatives.

Thermo Radiata is low maintenence relative to untreated softwoods. You can leave it untreated to develop a silver-grey finish, or oil/stain to retain colour. Re-oil or recoat every 2-5 years depending on exposure and product. Keep fixing details, ventilation and drip edges correct to avoid trapped moisture; regular gentle cleaning extends life.

Special order – non-returnable.

For 18 x 115mm cladding approx 9.10 linear metres is required to cover one square metre.
