Installation:

The mats should be laid on a bed of mortar on a solid foundation and then either; a) pointed with semi dry mortar (3 parts soft sand to 1 part cement) b) brush in a mix of 4 parts sharp sand to 1 part cement (dry enough so it doesn’t stain) c) brush in loose chippings/shingle d) if laid on a bed of sharp sand, brush in soil to allow small weeds to grow through for a rustic effect.
