Esme Case Study - Kebur Garden Materials

The vision

The client’s garden had become an underused space, lacking clear structure and purpose. Esme Developments were asked to reimagine it as a low-maintenance yet elegant outdoor setting that could be enjoyed throughout the year.

The brief focused on creating a light, welcoming garden with a Mediterranean-inspired atmosphere, carefully zoned to support cooking, dining and relaxation within a relatively compact footprint.

A key aim was to improve flow and usability while ensuring the finished space reflected the way the clients wanted to live and entertain outdoors.

The materials

Contempo Limestone White

Contempo Limestone White porcelain tiles were selected for the main paved areas due to their clean, refined appearance and practical performance. Their light tone helps to brighten the space and reinforces the Mediterranean feel, while their durability and low-maintenance qualities make them ideal for everyday outdoor living.

The same porcelain was also used to clad the existing outdoor kitchen, giving it a completely refreshed, contemporary look that integrates seamlessly with the surrounding paving.

Sinai Pearl Egyptian Limestone setts

To introduce texture and visual contrast, Sinai Pearl setts were laid in a 45-degree herringbone pattern. This detailing adds craftsmanship and depth to the design, elevating the overall finish. The setts were also used as coping for the bespoke olive tree planter, helping to visually tie the different elements of the garden together.

Aggregates

All aggregates used throughout the project were supplied by Kebur, supporting drainage, structure and consistency across the scheme while maintaining a cohesive palette.

Together, these materials were chosen for their subtle, natural tones, durability, and ability to create a calm, refined aesthetic that works beautifully year-round.
